8 days / 7 nights at Haus Maria Bruck, Austria — snow guaranteed on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier
A late-season ski week in the heart of the Austrian Alps, based at Haus Maria Bruck — a cosy, Polish-run guesthouse in Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße, just ten minutes from Kaprun and Zell am See. With the Kitzsteinhorn glacier on your doorstep, snow is guaranteed well into April, and the Salzburg ALPIN CARD opens up over 400 km of pistes across three ski areas. A Polish team is on hand throughout the week to advise, help and chat — the easy, home-from-home atmosphere of a ski trip done right.
Transfer to Haus Maria Bruck and settle into your cosy room. Welcome from the Polish team, a first home-cooked dinner and a briefing on the week ahead — snow conditions, lift passes and the plan for the glacier.
A short drive up to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier — Kaprun's snow-sure showpiece. Easy warm-up on the wide groomed pistes, with the Polish instructors on hand to help anyone who wants a refresher. Après-ski in the sauna back at the guesthouse.
Across the valley to the Schmittenhöhe, the family-friendly mountain above Lake Zell. Long, sunny cruisers with panoramic views over the lake and the Hohe Tauern peaks. A mountain-restaurant lunch booked away from the queue.
Back to the Kitzsteinhorn for a full day high on the glacier — the best spring snow in the region. Time to explore the Ice Arena and the viewpoints at 3 000 m. After skiing, a relaxed evening at the guesthouse.
An easier day: a gentle morning on the Maiskogel beginner and family slopes, or a rest day to explore Bruck, walk along the river and enjoy the spring sun. The Polish team is happy to arrange a guided off-piste session for the keen skiers.
A second day on the Schmittenhöhe — by now the spring snow softens beautifully in the afternoon, perfect for long, relaxed runs down to the valley. Sunset on the terrace before heading back to Bruck.
A final full day — your choice of glacier or Schmittenhöhe, with the Polish team coordinating a group meet-up for lunch on the mountain. A celebratory farewell dinner at Haus Maria Bruck.
A last breakfast together, goodbyes to the team and transfer home — tanned, tired and already planning the next trip.
